Dr. Marin is board certified in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He offers a number of services to his patients at Miami Spine & Joint, including treatment for spinal stenosis, back pain, radiculopathy, sciatica, hip pain, knee pain and many other ailments.
Dr. Marin earned his bachelor’s degree in Science in Biochemistry from the University of Miami. He later studied medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. After graduating with his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Marin went on to complete his Transitional Internship at Yale University and Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Emory University in Atlanta where he served as Chief Resident. He completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine and Interventional Spinal Physiatry at the Emory Pain Center (Department of Anesthesia) and Emory Orthopedic & Spine Center (Department of Orthopedics). Dr. Marin has received further advanced training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound – a unique, state-of-the-art technology in the orthopedic field.
Dr. Marin went on to serve as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida School of Medicine in Tampa, FL for three years in the Department of Neurosurgery. While there he was involved with education, research, community education, and foundation of the Cahill Spine Institute, providing multi-specialty spine care to the Tampa Community.
Dr. Marin is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP), North American Spine Society (NASS), American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), and Spine Intervention Society (SIS).
He specializes in treating patients with acute and chronic sports, spine and joint injuries.
Dr. Marin performs include: ultrasound and fluoroscopically guided joint injections, regenerative injections, spine injections, epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, and many others. The goals of Dr. Marin’s treatment are to help every patient achieve his or her highest level of performance and function.
During his career, Dr. Marin has contributed to several articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He has also participated in a variety of research studies. He has significant experience treating patients, and he uses the knowledge he has gained to provide every patient with the best quality of care.
